Lake Rosebery © Tourism Tasmania and Joe ShemeshRosebery nestles on the slopes of Mount Black at the northern end of the West Coast Range. With an exciting goldmining history, the town is now supported by the state’s rich Pasminco zinc mine. This tranquil mining town has a picturesque rainforest setting on the banks of Lake Rosebery. The surrounding area has some of the most ancient rainforest systems in the world and is home to some unique flora and the oldest Huon pine tree known to man. Rosebery is the ideal base for excursions to the natural wonders of the north-west – Cradle Mountain, the Franklin River, Montezuma Falls and the magnificent rainforests of the Hellyer Gorge.
