Located 14km east of Hobart on the Arthur Highway, Cambridge is now part of Greater
Hobart. Before the building of the Tasman Highway, this town was on the main access road to the east. This was the home of Hobart's original airport, and now the Cambridge Airport is the major point of embarkation for scenic flights around Hobart, the Tasman Peninsula, Maria Island and the South West Wilderness region.
Mount Rumney, which is 378m above sea level, offers excellent views over the bays and inlets between the Tasman Peninsula and the area around Frederick Henry Bay.
