The Sticky Rice Cooking School is Adelaide's inspiring new cooking school which offers 'real' hands-on cooking classes in challenging cuisines such as Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, Burmese, Nepalese, Japanese, Malaysian, Indonesian, Cambodian, Moroccan and Lebanese. The classes offer the opportunity to refine your skills under the tutelage of some of the finest chefs including Kelly Lord from the famous Spirit House Restaurant in Queensland. These masters of cuisine are adventurous and talented and are ready to take you on a fun and inspiring food journey. You will be shown the finer points of how to create great Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine including pounding your own pastes in a mortar and pestle. During your visit you are guaranteed to be immerse in a wealth of knowledge about the ingredients and cultural influences of food. All classes are AUD125.00 and include time to relax and dine while complimentary wine is offered with the meal. After enjoying the delicious food, customers can linger and shop for Asian ingredients, gifts and chef-selected cookware in the cooking school shop. The interactive display table demystifies the Asian supermarket jars once and for all and you are provided access to their recommended list of recipe books and DVDs. Along one entire wall there is a gallery of Asian food inspired images captured on camera which are both stimulating and absorbing. Classes will suit anyone with a passion for cooking including competent cooks, work and friendship groups and travellers who have had their taste buds awakened overseas and want to learn how to create authentic dishes at home.
