Coober Pedy

Witjira National Park
This piece of the Outback north of Oodnadatta has dunes, saltpans and coolibah woodlands, but is most famous for its hot springs. The Dalhousie Springs has more than 60 springs rising from the Great Artesian Basin.
Lake Eyre National Park
Lake Eyre is Australia’s largest salt lake, 15m below sea level and with a salt crust estimated at 400 million tonnes. Usually surrounded by sparse vegetation the area comes alive with flowers and birdlife after the rare occasions that it rains.
Simpson Desert Conservation Park
At the very top of South Australia this endless landscape of sand dunes, spinifex, and salt lakes is home to 180 bird, 92 reptile and 44 native mammal species.
